I Nepal

Gjennom vår samarbeidspartner i Nepal får du jobber direkte med et svært spennende miljøprosjekt: Children BEEP er et program som lærer opp lokalbefolkningen i resirkulering og bærekraft. Programmet består av undervisning i skoler, informasjonsarbeid, praktisk resirkulering av avfall, demonstrasjonsfabrikk og salg av egenproduserte produkter. Praksis hos Childen BEEP vil innebære aktiv deltakelse i alle disse aktivitetene.

Våre studenter vil være innlosjert på Shelemiah Homestay svært sentralt i Khatmandu.

By locating in Balaju, a suburb of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Shelemiah Homestay offers a comfortable and immersive cultural experience. We have four rooms, housing a total of 10 beds, two bathrooms (one common and one attached) making it conveniently accessible for travelers venturing the outskirts of Kathmandu. Our students can explore landmarks such as the Swayambhunath Stupas, Balaju Garden, Raniban Community Forest, Balaju Bais Dhara, Tarkeshwar Mahadev and Nagarjung. Additionally, Kathmandu city, rich in tourism sites, is conveniently close. For example reaching to Thamel from the homestay is just 2 and half km.

Startet av tidligere student

Devendra er en tidligere student på Hald, og startet opp dette prosjektet da han reise tilbake til Neplal. Han forteller dette om prosjektet:

I am Devendra Adhikari from Nepal. I was exchange student in Hald in year 2009/10.  I was very much influenced by the clean environment and proper waste management system in Norway.

After I come back from Hald to my sending Organization in 2010, I was so interested in working with Solid Waste Management in Nepal. I started an organization called SAMDAN. Under SAMDAN, I am running two programs:

The first one is Children base Environment Education Program(Children-BEEP) and another one is Children Education Support Program(CESP).

Children-BEEP is actively working for Solid Waste Management(SWM) via school children and very directly involve in more than 16 schools in Balaju area. Curriculum Development, theoretical and practical teaching of curriculum, waste segregation, collection of segregated waste in 3 different categories(Paper, Plastic and Decomposable), processing the collected paper and plastic , handcraft making( both in schools & projects site), Eco clubs’ formation and mobilization in different 16 schools, indoor and outdoor events organizations, teacher and school management training and workshops for Children-BEEP vison are our main activities. We are so focused on 3R methodology for waste management.  We are building ‘Child Police in Each House for Clean and Environment Friendly Communities’ by developing positive attitude/habit towards waste management via school education/cooperation/collaboration.

From last two month, I am as SAMDAN together with many others organization are working for the national movement for Creation Care. More than 14 organization representing for the movement as staring committee and preparing for five years national plan. let’s see how it goes in days to come.

If you have such vision/interest for clean and better life for the communities in Nepal (focused on cities area in case for Children-BEEP), we can work together for the same vision. Recently in Kathmandu, solid waste management is the burning issue!

Før du reiser til Nepal er det et introduksjonskurs på Hald med undervisning i fagområdene kultur og kommunikasjon. Du får også forberedt deg på alt det praktiske rundt reise og opphold i Nepal.

Etter oppholdet i Nepal blir det en viktig debriefing og oppsummering på Hald.

Pris

Et halvår på Hald light koster kr 69 000. Det dekker kost og losji på Hald, reise og opphold i Nepal, og kursavgift på skolen. I tillegg kommer utgifter til vaksiner og eventuelle turer på eget initiativ.

Kurset gir rett til lån og stipend i lånekassen.
